About Us
Nutrition Care Ltd was established in 1995 by Cathy Khouri and Janelle Wallace to provide personalised assessment and education on a wide range of nutrition topics in both health and illness.
Janelle has now retired from seeing patients but is still providing a mentoring role to Nutrition Care.
Cathy worked in clinical dietetics and food service management. Experience in these areas has been an important attribute in the provision of services from Nutrition Care. For example, rest home food service and care of residents at nutritional risk due to frailty or illness. She is a clinical tutor for Otago University post graduate students and sits on the advisory panel for the Health and Disability Commissioner when required. Cathy has had many years experience advising patients with clinical nutrition problems.
Niki is a tutor dietitian at Waikato Hospital co-ordinating and training student dietitians. Previously she has worked as a clinical and food service management dietitian in New Zealand and overseas. More recently she was working in Health Services Management for the Waikato District Health Board.
Continuing competence is a necessary part of annual registration as dietitians and nutritionists. It involves professional development through ongoing education and review of practice. We are both involved in the NZ Dietitians Board's and Nutrition Society's programme of continuing competence.
Cathy and Niki are members of the NZ Dietetic Association, NZ Nutrition Society, NZ Nutrition Foundation.
